BMW GS1200 Motorcycle Theft Recovery in London | MTrack Motion Alert Leads to Tower Hamlets Search Operation

by | Oct 20, 2019 | Recoveries

At 6:00am, Automatrics received an urgent MTrack motion alert from a customer’s BMW GS1200 motorcycle. The customer was immediately notified and initially asked for the alarm to be reset. However, the motion alerts continued, indicating ongoing movement of the vehicle. Shortly after, the customer confirmed that the BMW GS1200 had been stolen from a secure car park, despite being locked behind a roller shutter door.

Following confirmation of the theft, Automatrics began live tracking using the MTrack vehicle security system. Although no GPS position was available at the time, the device successfully transmitted a GSM cell site location within the Tower Hamlets area of London, providing a critical lead for the recovery operation.

With limited GPS data and the possibility that the motorcycle was being stored in a signal-blocking environment, Automatrics deployed a specialist recovery investigator equipped with radio frequency (RF) locating equipment to narrow down the exact position of the stolen BMW GS1200.

Motorcycle theft in urban areas such as London often involves rapid relocation and concealment, making early tracking data essential for successful recovery. This case demonstrates how motion alerts, GSM cell site data, GPS tracking, and RF recovery tools work together to locate stolen motorcycles even when standard GPS signals are unavailable.

Watch the full recovery operation to see how Automatrics tracked the stolen BMW GS1200 into Tower Hamlets and whether the motorcycle was successfully located and recovered.
