A customer called us Saturday afternoon at 14:30 announcing he had his £18,000 BMW motorbike stolen from West London. The customer heard the alarm go off, and tried to pursuit chase in a car, but unfortunately could not keep up. We sent a signal to our tracker for an updated position, which picked up within 40 minutes confirming the new location. We sent this WhatThreeWords location to our Met Police Contact along with the crime number, who deployed a unit to arrive on scene within 10 minutes.
The customer arrived at the location, but unfortunately there was damage to the bike – The thieves had cut the battery wires and the front disc had been cut to remove the lock – which was found at the location it was stolen from. The customer waited for a BMW recovery truck, which we advised we would pay for – allowing the customer not to claim on his insurance.
