We received a call at 8:45 am from one of our car hire customers reporting that an £85k 2024 Range Rover had been stolen overnight at around 22:15, without the keys.
We immediately contacted one of our NaVCIS liaison officers, Adam Gibson, who quickly deployed two units to the location. Suffolk Police arrived within around 20 minutes and successfully boxed the Range Rover in on the driveway where it had been abandoned.
The vehicle was recovered within 45 minutes, with Suffolk Police now leading the investigation. On inspection, there was the usual damage found to these Range Rovers, in search for tracking devices, along with pulling down the roof lining under the JLR antenna.
The customer also reported the loss of a laptop, gym bag, and umbrella. It is suspected a GPS jammer may have been used, as the live trackers signal dropped out at the point of theft and only resumed once the vehicle was recovered.
Overall, a very fast response from all parties and a positive recovery outcome, and many thanks again to Adam Gibson and Sargent Dave Logan at Suffolk police.
